Crazy Horse Memorial presents the 18th annual A
Gift from Mother Earth Celebration, Friday through Sunday, June 13, 14 and 15.
Activities during the annual family-oriented
weekend include:
-- The Crazy Horse Stampede. This rodeo is among
the few to feature both Great Plains Indian Rodeo Association and Professional
Rodeo Cowboy’s Association events. Action starts 2 p.m. each day in the Crazy
Horse arena near the Crazy Horse mountain carving. Daily admission is $10 for
adults, $3.50 for children ages 13 to 6, with youth under age 6 admitted free.
Admission to the memorial is free with your rodeo pass.
-- The Art show and sale. Typically, about 30
selected artists participate, coming from as far away as South America some
years. The entries are exhibited 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the weekend in the
Indian Museum of North America, where custom-made jewelry and other items are
offered at nearly 40 booths throughout the visitor complex.
-- Please visit the Indian Museum of North
America, Native American Cultural Center, Sculptor’s-studio home and workshop.
Don’t miss the evening entertainment and the spectacular laser light show
nightly at dark.
Crazy Horse Memorial is located on Highway 16/385
between Hill City and Custer, 35 miles southwest of Rapid City, only 17 miles
from Mt. Rushmore.
